Shelley Duvall’s acting career began in her hometown of Houston when a casting scout for the Robert Altman film Brewster McCloud discovered her working at a cosmetics counter. After an amazing run of Altman movies in the 70’s, Stanley Kubrick cast her as Wendy, Jack Torrance’s terrified wife in The Shining. She has also done other horror and fantasy films, including Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie and Tale of the Mummy. She also produced Emmy nominated series Faerie Tale Theatre, Tall Tales and Legends, and Shelley Duvall’s Bedtime Stories.
