Described as unwilling to sell herself, Jessica Harper has been in many iconic films among relatively few credits. Musically gifted as a singer and composer and willing to accept challenging and offbeat roles, she was a welcome presence from the mid 70’s through the early 80’s. Horror movies include Brian de Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise, Dario Argento’s Suspiria, and the sequel to Rocky Horror, Shock Treatment. Other memorable roles in Inserts, Love and Death, Pennies From Heaven, and My Favorite Year make for an impressive oeuvre.
Married to Hollywood executive Thoms Edgar Rothman, she has devoted much of her time to family, but has written eleven children’s books, recorded seven albums of children’s music.
