Catherine Lacey was a British actress who made her screen debut in the 1938 Alfred Hitchcock film, The Lady Vanishes. She appeared in some terrific films, including I Know Where I’m Going! (1945), Whiskey Galore! (1949), and The Servant (1963). Near the end of her career, she was in a few horror films, the last Hammer film shot at Bray Studios, The Mummy’s Shroud (1967), and in 1967 Michael Reeves’ excellent The Sorcerers opposite Boris Karloff. Catherine Lacey died in 1979, completing another memorable film, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, in 1970.
