A drama student since her early teens, British actress Hazel Court really wished to be a comedic performer, and her 1944 film debut was the musical comedy Champagne Charlie.  However today she is best known as Hammer film’s first major star, and a scream queen who was in five Roger Corman pictures.

Her credits include Forbidden, Ghost Ship, Devil Girl From Mars, The Curse of Frankenstein, The Man Who Could Cheat Death, Doctor Blood’s Coffin, Premature Burial, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, and Omen III: The Final Conflict.  She was also on several horror and suspense television series including Invisible Man, Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre, Danger Man, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Thriller, Ghost Squad, and The Twilight Zone.  Hazel Court died in California in 2008 at the age of 82.
